Your entire understanding and appreciation of Scottish art will change the moment that you spend just a bit of time inside Inverbeg gallery.
Scottish art is on display
It’s no surprise that a Scottish art gallery would be overflowing with picture-perfect examples of Scottish art – but the truth of the matter is that this art gallery (Inverbeg gallery) has gone to great lengths to make sure that their collection is filled with some of the most exciting and interesting examples of this art genre. There are many examples representing the maritime history of Scotland, from the days of sail to the glory days of the Clyde steamers and the great ocean-going liners. Scottish steam railways and tramcar scenes from all parts of Scotland add to the historical interest.
Aviation art has a dedicated following at Inverbeg Gallery
An ever expanding collection of high quality aviation art by both Scottish and other dedicated aviation artists is also on view – including many examples previously exhibited at the annual exhibition of the Guild of Aviation Artists in the Mall Gallery in London. ( Most of the latter now only being available as limited edition prints – the originals having been sold at the London show )
So much more to see.
Inverbeg has four main gallery showrooms. The central long gallery contains many original paintings as well as an area dedicated to open and limited edition prints - and a comprehensive selection of artists materials. The walls of the other three showrooms are lined with a marvellous selection of original artwork of all types, portraits, landscapes, seascapes, art from Europe and abroad, wildlife and photographic art.
There is always something new to see at Inverbeg gallery, particularly since the original art on view at any one time represents only about one third of the work available for display – the displayed work being continuously changed so that no two visits will be the same, so make sure that you spend just a bit of time checking out the showrooms the next time that you are in this wonderful area of Scotland – you won’t regret it!
